1: ASSISTANT MANAGER – MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS (1 POST)
Appointing Authority: Board of Directors
Employment Terms: Five Years Contract - Renewable
Responsible To: Managing Director
Subordinates: Information Systems Officers and Computer Maintenance Technicians
Salary Scale: MWAUWASA’s Salary Scale of MAS 11
Required minimum qualifications:
Degree/Advanced Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology. Possession of Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) or Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CNA). At least five years relevant experience. Second degree in a relevant field is an added advantage. Should not be above 45 years.
Duties and responsibilities:
The Assistant Manager – Management Information Systems (AM-MIS) is the head of Management Information Systems Section that is responsible for information and communication technology activities in the Authority. In particular, he/she:-
- Direct daily operations of the section, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards and setting deadlines.
- Assign and review the work of information systems officers and other computer-related staff
- In liaise with users, management, vendors, and technicians evaluates/assesses computing needs and system functionality and requirements and ensures that ICT facilities meet these needs.
- Plans, develops, implements and control operational budget and expenditures in ICT,
- Schedules upgrades and manages backup, security and user help systems of hardware and software,
- Evaluate the organization's technology use and needs and researches and recommends improvements such as hardware and software upgrades, and installation of new systems,
- Develops computer information resources, providing for data security and control, strategic computing, and disaster recovery,
- Ensures smooth running of all ICT systems, including ensuring of security of data from internal and external attack, anti-virus software, print services, internet, intranet and email provision,
- Manages crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems,
- Develops and manages Authority’s website to required standard.
- Develops and interprets organizational goals, policies, and procedures relating to ICT.
- Keeps up to date with the latest technologies.
- Performs any other duties assigned by his/her superiors.
2: ASSISTANT MANAGER – SANITATION OPERATIONS (1 POST)
Appointing Authority: Board of Directors
Employment Terms: Five Years Contract - Renewable
Responsible To: Technical Manager
Subordinates: Sanitation Engineers, Sanitation Technicians
Salary Scale: MWAUWASA’s Salary Scale of MAS 11
Required minimum qualifications:
Environmental engineering degree or equivalent. Must be registered with Engineers Registration Board as Professional Engineer. At least five years relevant experience. Computer skills preferably in engineering field such as engineering drawing softwares is added advantage. Second degree in a relevant field is an added advantage. Should not be above 45 years.
Duties and responsibilities:
The Assistant Manager – Sanitation Operations (AM-SO) is the head of Sanitation Operations Section that is responsible for operation and maintenance of sewerage network and on-site sanitation services in the Authority. In particular, he/she:-
- Directs daily operations of the section, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards and setting deadlines.
- Assigns and reviews the work of sanitation engineers/technicians and other relevant sanitation staff.
- Assists in planning, directing and supervising preparation of detailed sewerage works and drainage systems and other relevant sanitation works that includes survey, design, constructions of the same.
- Supervises implementation of sewerage and relevant sanitation works.
- Ensures regular inspection of sewerage and relevant sanitation works is carried out and advises on and monitors all service, maintenance and repairs.
- Enforces proper treatment of wastewater and dispose of thereon.
- Ensures compliance and conformity to prescribed laws, rules, regulations and standards pertaining to sanitation operations.
- Gives professional guidance to sanitation engineers and technicians for performing the Authority’s activities and getting registered with Engineers Registration Board.
- Plans, develops, implements and control operational budget and expenditures in sanitation operations,
- Develops and interprets organizational goals, policies, and procedures relating to sanitation operations.
- Gives professional advice to the Technical Manager on sanitation operations matters,
- Performs any other duties assigned by his/her superiors.
3: ASSISTANT MANAGER – MARKETING AND CUSTOMER SERVICES (1 POST)
Appointing Authority: Board of Directors
Employment Terms: Five Years Contract - Renewable
Responsible To: Commercial Manager
Subordinates: Marketing/Customer Services Officers/Assistant Officers/Assistants
Salary Scale: MWAUWASA’s Salary Scale of MAS 11
Required minimum qualifications:
Degree/Advanced Diploma in Business Administration or Commerce with Marketing bias. At least five years relevant experience. Computer skills preferably MS application software. Second degree in a relevant field is an added advantage. Should not be above 45 years.
Duties and responsibilities:
The Assistant Manager – Marketing and Customer Services is the head of Marketing and Customer Services Section. In particular, he/she:-
- Assigns and reviews the work of marketing/customer service officers and assistants.
- Deals and responds to customers complaints timely.
- Liaises with heads of zone operations to make sure that all marketing and customer services issues are handled promptly.
- Prepares and implements different marketing strategies to ensure that MWAUWASA generates more revenue.
- Prepares detailed market survey to identify un-served potential customers and connected customers without adequate water services.
- Identifies and advises management on how to treat corporate customer in an appropriate way.
- Advises Commercial Manager in all marketing and customer services related matters.
- Prepares and submits reports to commercial manager on issues concerning marketing and customer services.
- Carries out survey to identify customer satisfaction and interpret results for management decision making.
- Conducts performance appraisal to all subordinates in the section
- Plans, develops, implements and control operational budget and expenditures in marketing and customer services.
- Develops and interprets organizational goals, policies, and procedures relating to marketing and customer services.
- Performs any other duties assigned by his/her superiors.
