The University of Dar es salaam invites applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians to be considered for immediate employment to fill the following vacant posts
1. (a) Job Title: Janitor II (5 posts)

(b) Qualifications and Experience.
Applicants should possess the following academic and professional qualifications.
· Diploma in Education or Home Economics or equivalent qualification preferably with past experience in related field.

(c) Main Duties:
· Assists in supervising hall attendants.
· Assists in enforcing students’ rules and regulations.
· Assists in keeping and maintaining proper residence records
· Assists in ensuring security in and around halls of residence.
· Performs any other duties as he/she may be assigned by his/her Supervisor.

2. (a) Job Title: Teacher II (10 posts)

(b) Qualifications and Experience.
Applicants should possess the following academic and professional qualifications.
· Form IV Certificate plus Grade IIIA Teacher’s Certificate.
· At least four (4) years relevant working experience

(c) Main Duties:
· Gives instructions in one’s specialized content subjects.
· Prepares plan of work, course preparation, teaching aids pupil exercise, tests and examination.
· Marks pupils’ progress.
· Provides progress reports to the school management.
· Prepares and keeps progress reports of each pupil.
· Participate in the school’s duty roster.
· Takes care of the pupils’ welfare in and outside the classroom.
· Performs any other duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor.

(b) Qualifications and Experience:
Applicants for:
Professor/Associate Professor must have a PhD from a recognized university and at least ten points of publications for Associate Professor and seventeen points for Professor based on the University of Dar es salaam promotion criteria.
Senior Lecturer must possess a PhD from a recognized university and four points of publications since completion of his/her PhD.
Lecturer must possess a PhD from a recognized university, a minimum GPA of 4.0 at Master’s degree level and an undergraduate degree with an overall GPA of 3.8 or higher from a recognized university.
Assistant Lecturer must possess a minimum GPA of 4.0 at Master’s degree level and an undergraduate degree with an overall GPA of 3.8 or higher from a recognized university.
Tutorial Assistant must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with a minimum GPA of 3.8.
 
TERMS OF SERVICE:
Permanent and pensionable for Tanzanian applicants below 45 years of age Non-Tanzanians are only eligible for positions requiring the possession of a PhD.
 
REMUNERATION:
Attractive package will be offered to the right candidate commensurate with his/her qualification and experience.
