Applications are invited from qualified Tanzanians to apply for undergraduate programs tenable in the Republic of Mauritius for 2014/2015 academic year in the following areas of specializations:-
- Medicine,
- Engineering,
- Science and Technology,
- Oil and Gas,
- Agriculture,
- Telecommunications and,
- Geology.
1.1. The scholarship will cover:-
a) A monthly living allowances of Rs 8,300 (USD 266 approx.)
b) Tuition fees up to Rs 100,000 (USD 3205 approx.) yearly, and
c) Airfare (economy class) by the most economical route to and from Mauritius at the start and the end of the studies.
1.2.
The duration of the scholarship will be for a maximum of four (4) years depending on the course duration.
2. Eligibility
2.1 Students must have:-
(a) Passed 3 principals at Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education or at an equivalent level acceptable to the scholarship panel;
(b) Secured an Admission letter from a fully accredited and on campus undergraduate programme on a full- time basis from one of the following public institutions in Mauritius:-

2.2 Candidates should be resident citizens of the United Republic of Tanzania.
2.3 Scholarships shall not be awarded for:
(a) Top –up degree programmes;
(b) Foundation programmes; and
(c) Mixed modes (distance and non-campus undergraduate programme on a full time basis at a Public Tertiary education institution).
2.4 Age Limit
Candidates should not be more than 25 years of age at the date of application.
3. Procedures for Submitting Applications
3.1 Candidate should submit their application forms and a copy of the following documents;-
(a) Birth certificate
(b) Certified copies of certificates, of Secondary School results (“O” and “A” level;
(c) Mark sheets relating to their qualifications;
(d) Letter of conditional offer/admission by a public tertiary education institution in Mauritius.
Note: Non- submission of one of these documents will result in the elimination from the award of the scholarship
3.2 Candidate should indicate in their application the name of the institution, the title and the course code of the programme to which they have been admitted.
3.3 All applications should include a medical report and an AIDS-free certificate before the scholarship is approved.
4. Other conditions
4.1 Self-financing candidates already studying in Mauritius in an undergraduate programme before July 2014 will not be converted into studentship.
4.2 The scholarship holders would be required to sign an undertaking to return to their home country as soon as the studentship comes to an end.
4.3 The candidate, once selected, should:-
(a) Be available to commence their academic studies in Mauritius by the start of the academic year of the respective institution where they have been admitted;
(b) Be attending full time and on-campus (not distance learning) programme;
(c) Not be in receipt of a full fee studentship from any other source; and
(d) Be able to pay any outstanding costs not covered by the scholarship.
5. Important Information
5.1 Candidates must submit their application through the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training after securing admission in a Public Tertiary Education Institution in Mauritius at the following address.
