Malaysian Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) for Commonwealth Countries, 2013/2014.

The Malaysian Government offers Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) for the students of commonwealth countries to study at the postgraduate level in Malaysia. The scholarship is awarded for up to 12 to 24 months for master courses depending upon the course and up to 3 years for PhD degree. The awards are only applicable for candidates pursuing full-time degree programme in Malaysia. Deadline for application is 10 September, 2013.
Study Subject(s): Field of studies is in these priority areas: science and engineering, agriculture and fisheries, economics and Islamic finance, information and communication technology, biotechnology, biosecurity and food safety, infrastructure and utility, environmental studies, health not including nursing, medicine and clinical pharmacy(Applicants may choose any related course within these field/areas).
Course Level: The scholarship is available for pursuing postgraduate degree( Master and Phd)

Eligibility: To be eligible for Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP), applicants must fit the following criteria:-
-Not be more than 45 years of age during application.
-Obtained a minimum of Second Class Upper (Honours) or a CGPA of 3.5/4.0 at Bachelor Degree Level for Masters Degree applicants and for PhD candidates must possess CGPA 3.5/4.0 or very good result at Masters degree level in a similar field of intended PhD study. In addition, for post-doctoral programme, the selection will be evaluated based on the number of books produced, refereed/non refereed journals, portfolio and patent copyright. The Post-Doctoral candidate must have excellent reputation in research and possesses knowledge related to the research to be carried out.
-Took one of the following English Language Proficiency Test not more than two years before the date of application. The list of tests and minimum scores required: IELTS Academic Test with a score of at least 6.5; or TOEFL paper-based test with a score of at least 580 or computer-based test with a score of at least 230 or internet-based test with a score at least 92.
-In excellent health condition and certified by a Certified Doctor/Medical Professional. The cost of medical examination is to be borne by the applicants.
-Wrote a proposal that is relevant to the needs and interests of Malaysia (research-based programme only).
-Has applied for and gained admission to postgraduate and post-doctoral studies in Malaysia (conditional letters of offer will be accepted at the time of application or has a confirmation of acceptance or affiliation with the universities in Malaysia).

Baadhi ya wananchi wanaomeza dawa za kutibu kichocho na minyoo ya tumbo kupitia mpango wa kudhibiti magonjwa yaliyokuwa hayapewi kipaumbele nchini (NTD), wanadai zinawasaidia kuongeza nguvu za kiume wakati wa tendo la kujamiana.

Mratibu wa mpango huo mkoa wa Singida Yuda Machumu, amesema hayo wakati akiongea na waandishi wa habari wanaohudhuria mafunzo ya siku nne mjini Singida ya uandishi sahihi wa taarifa zinazohusiana na masuala ya afya.

Amesema kuwa baadhi ya wananchi hao wakishatumia dawa hizo hurudi tena kwa wagawa dawa wakihitaji kupatiwa tena dawa, kwa madai kwamba zinawasaidia sana kuwaongezea nguvu wakati wa kujamiana.

Machumu amesema kuwa tatizo hilo haliwahusu wanaume pekee bali wanawake pia ambao katika halmashauri ya wailaya ya Singida, baadhi yao hufika kwa wagawa dawa kuomba dawa hizo, wakidai zinawasaidia sana kuongeza nguvu ya mwili mara baada ya kumeza.

Akizungumzia tatizo hilo, Machumu amesema siyo kweli kuwa dawa hizo zinaongeza nguvu za kiume, hali hiyo hujitokeza baada ya kuwa dawa hizo zimeua vimelea wa maradhi hayo mwilini ikiwemo wale wa minyoo na kichocho, hivyo mwili kuwa na nguvu mpya.

Kwa mujibu wa Machumu katika kipindi cha mwaka jana, mpango huo ulihudumia zaidi ya watu 850,000 sawa na asilimia 71 ya lengo la kuhudumia watu 1,205,159 kwa mkoa wa Singida.

The Dar Teknohama Business Incubator (DTBi) with the support of infoDev World Bank wants to support ICT Entrepreneurs through Virtual Incubation. As a first phase, ICT Entrepreneurs in Arusha and Kilimanjaro are invited to participate in the programme. The main goal is to build capacity of the ICT Entrepreneurs by providing them with Business Development Services and capacity building of the programmes, with the aim of eventually creating businesses in the development of our country. The Business Development Services will be provided free of charge during the duration of the programme.
DTBi is a non-profit business driven entity established with the support of infoDev of the World Bank, the Government of Tanzania through COSTECH and also supported by TCRA. The goal is to stimulate and accelerate the creation of technology based innovations that will have an impact on the growth of our economy.

Israeli Government Scholarships for Foreign Students, 2014

The government of Israel, Ministry of Foreign Affairs offers scholarships for foreign students in Israel. First priority will be given to candidates applying for a post doctorate program and to research students and second priority will be given to PhD Students and to MA students. The applicant must hold a BA or BSc degree (or higher) and have a good record of academic achievement. Different types of scholarships are offered summer language courses (Ulpan) and one academic year or Research scholarships. Application should be submitted till November 30 each year.

Study Subject(s): These government scholarships are providing any one course offered by the Israel Universities (Scholarships will be granted only in universities and programs approved by the Ministry).
Course Level: First priority will be given to candidates applying for a post doctorate program and to research students. Second priority will be given to PhD Students and to MA students. Third priority will be given to candidates for overseas programs.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Ensure a sound hygienic work environment to staff and the general public as regard to the company activities i.e. Generation, Transmission, Distribution, Sales, Marketing and Customer Services.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

• Ensure all company workplaces are in the top hygienic condition.
• Ensure personal hygiene risks are identified and managed
• Ensure all staff and facilities acquire optimal necessities as far as industrial hygiene is concerned
• Minimize man hour losses due to unfavorable working environment and hygienic conditions
• Carry out hygiene audits/ inspections for entire company to ensure they conform to the required hygienic standards and advise on maintaining and enhancing workers hygiene.
• Monitor the improvement of lighting level, internal air quality (ventilation), audio and visibility in work place to meet legal and company standards.
• Prevent noise induced hearing loss by implementing audio screenings and analyze the trends/statistics on hygiene education
• Conducting regular seminars and training on hygiene regulations and procedures to members of staff.
• Preparation of hygienic condition tender documents technical specifications whenever a need arises.
• Preparation of weekly monthly, quarterly and annual reports. Also, compile hygienic condition reports from regions and plants
• Any other work related duties as directed by the Principal Health Officer.

• Good communication skills and computer literacy (Good written & spoken English and Kiswahili are a must).

• Prioritizes work and uses time efficiently
• Plans ahead to ensure that resources are available in time
• Ability to meet constant deadlines

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:                                                   

Education:

• A good bachelor degree in Environmental sciences, Health or equivalent from accredited Universities/Colleges.

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years in the Occupational Health field

KEY COMPETENCIES:

• Comprehensive knowledge on Industrial hygiene,
• Knowledge on Occupational Health Laws, Standards and Regulations,
• Ability to manage, supervise and work
