PURPOSE
STATEMENT
DAWASCO is a Public
Corporation
which was established to provide water and sewerage services to the City
of Dar
Es Salaam and some parts of Coast Region. It has vacancies which has to
be
filled immediately.
Applications are now
invited
from suitable internal candidates to fill in the position of Finance
Manager, Plant
Manager, and Plant Operations Supervisor.
POSITION: FINANCE
MANAGER (1 Post)
CORE FUNCTIONS
The Finance
Manager shall be responsible in
assisting Chief Finance Officer in
accounting for the revenue and expenditure of the Corporation
Reporting:
Shall
be reporting to Chief Finance Officer
Main Duties and Responsibilities
·
Produce
the weekly financial statements and monthly management accounts.
·
Produce
the management accounts for Board meetings
·
Monitor
actual performance Vs budget
·
Make
monthly projections of Revenue Expenditure Budget
·
Authorise
suppliers’ invoices for payment
·
Authorise
payments to creditors
·
Keep
various books of accounts as per IFRS
·
Ensure
compliance of the PPRA 2004
·
Supervise
subordinates to conform with laid down financial policies and
regulations
Bachelor of Finance and Accounting/Accountancy
Qualification and Experience
The Ideal Candidate must possess a
Bachelor of Commerce
(Finance, Accounting), holder of CPA or similar positions must be
registered as
a practitioner.
Competencies
The holder of the position should be
able to apply knowledge,
skills and understanding in a wide and unpredictable variety of contexts
with
substantial personal responsibility, responsibility for the work of
others and
responsibility for the allocation of resources, policy, planning,
execution and
evaluation

Transform Together Scholarships for International Students at Sheffield Hallam University in UK, 2014.
Sheffield Hallam University offers Transform Together Scholarships
for International Students in UK. Scholarships are open to students from
any non-EU country applying to study at Sheffield Hallam University to
enrol in the 2013/14 academic year. All full-time postgraduate and
undergraduate taught courses are eligible. The scholarships include a
one-year full tuition fee waiver for full-time taught postgraduate
courses and 50% tuition fee discount for each year of an undergraduate
course (subject to successful progression). The application deadline
is 1st November 2013.
Study Subject (s): All full-time postgraduate and undergraduate taught courses are taking part in the programme at Sheffield Hallam University.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing postgraduate and undergraduate taught degree level at Sheffield Hallam University.

-postgraduate only – have achieved a minimum 2.1 or equivalent in your honours degree and must meet the minimum course entry requirements. Please attach transcripts to scholarship applications.
-undergraduate only – you must achieve or exceed the entry criteria for the course.
-have an unconditional/conditional offer to study a full-time postgraduate course at Sheffield Hallam University.
-be enrolling on a one year full-time taught postgraduate course with Sheffield Hallam starting in the 2013/14 academic year
-be self-funding your studies
-have, or expect to achieve, a minimum of IELTS 6.0 (5.5 in all areas) or equivalent*
-be classed as an international student for fees purposes
-be able to pay any additional fees your course may require, for example field trips

Norwegian Government Quota Scheme for Eastern European, Developing & Central Asian Countries, 2013/14.
Norwegian Government offers Quota Scheme for Developing Countries’
Students in Norway. The scheme normally includes courses taught in
English at Master’s and PhD level, in addition to certain professional
degrees at selected Norway Universities. The Quota Scheme will only
enrol students from institutions (organisations, universities,
authorities) which have collaboration agreements with Norwegian
universities or colleges. Norwegian institutions usually do not
admit free movers (individual applicants) to this scheme. Only in very
special cases will free movers be considered. The deadline for
applications for the Quota scheme is usually 1st December every year.
Study Subject (s): Scholarships are provided to learn any of the courses offered by the Selected Norway Universities.
Course Level: The scheme normally includes courses taught in English at Master’s and PhD level, in addition to certain professional degrees at Selected Norway Universities.
