ASSISTANT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
Purpose of the Job
To administer the operational systems so as to process accurate, timely and sufficient information.
Major Activities of the Job
(i) Set-up and administer system for daily operations.
(ii) Distribute returns to data entry operators.
(iii) Assist in the preparation of reports (management and daily operations).
(iv) Take backups of data files (computer systems).
(v) Fill incident reports (system problems).
(vi) Support users (use of computer hardware and application).
(vii) Perform simple system maintenance.
(viii) Attend to rejections from the system.
(ix) Analyse and recommend on steps to maintain and improve systems
performance.
(x) Supervise manual part of returns processing.
(xi) Follow-up on computer stationery orders.
(xii) Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Job Requirements
Qualification
- Advanced
Diploma or Degree in Telecommunications and Electronics or Information
and Communications Technology or Computer Science or Software
Engineering or Systems Engineering or Electronics Engineering or its
equivalent.
- Relevant
Postgraduate Studies or a Masters Degree or its equivalent from a
recognised Institution/University or CCNA/CCNP, Knowledge of LANs, WANs,
MANs, Router configuration, VSATs, Switches, and Relational Database
Management System (RDBMS) or its equivalent will be an added advantage.
Experience
The applicant should have a minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience.

POSITION: BUSINESS ANALYST – WEB DEVELOPER
Major Activities of the Job
i. Conduct systems analysis;
ii. Specify and document user requirements for new systems;
iii. Design, develop and implement web applications including portals.
iv. Support and enhance the existing web applications;
v. Design and develop web interfaces for various systems in place;
vi. Responsible for administering web servers and web systems;
vii. Monitor web servers and site performance on daily basis;
viii. Work with other developers in software development projects;
ix. Liaise and provide technical support to all users and stakeholders of TRA web-based systems;
x. Advise on overall strategy for sustainable implementation of the web solutions

Minimum Job Requirements
Qualification
(i) Advanced
Diploma or Degree in Computer science, Information and Communications
Technology or Software Engineering or Systems Engineering or Electronics
Engineering or its equivalent.
(ii) Knowledge of Java, Visual Studio and Net toolssuch as Visual C#,
Web servers such as Apache, Tomcat and IIS, Data base such as Oracle
11g and MySQL and Operating systems such as Linux and Windows Server
2008 and Hand-written XML and SQL is a must.
(iii) Understanding
of object oriented programming concepts and familiarity with oracle
database administration, encrypting transmission over the internet and
concepts of web and window services is a must.
(iv) Ability
to modify or customize web solutions developed using a variety of tools
as well as ability to organise and manage multiple proprieties is a
must.

POSITION: BUSINESS ANALYST – QUALITY ASSURANCE
Major Activities of the Job
- Prepare test cases and plans for testing business applications;
- Review and execute test plans for different phases of product life cycle;
- Participate in product design and specification process;
- Critically evaluate the results of testing processes to provide timely and accurate defect descriptions;
- Act as a key member of an agile team as the quality assurance representative;
- Develop and execute automated test cases with an understanding as to the results driven by said tests;
- Where
applicable, execute manual test cases to verify software behaviour
based on product requirements and functional specifications;
- Interact with developers and other analysts to understand product requirements
- Prepare and store data required for testing. Understanding of data-driven tests
- Develop and maintain regression tests and functions libraries
- Record defects and track from entry to resolution
- Develop and maintain testing documentation with test case descriptions, expected and actual specifications and results
- Assess application quality and release readiness prior to implementation;
- Coordinate all testing tasks and communicate effectively to get the tasks completed on time;
- Investigate and facilitate implementation of new tools and technology for the quality assurance team; and
- Create product life cycle metrics to measure and track all aspects of product quality.

2. Major Activities of the Job
(i) Review newspapers and provide any recommendations for action.

(iii) Supervise the media relations and graphic designing activities of the department/TRA.
