1.      Lecturers (16)

1.       Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience

·         Holder of a good PhD degree in a specialized functional area.

·         Qualified to be employed as lecturer on their areas of one’s specializations.

·         One must have published in qualified journals at least three publications.

·         One must have the ability to co-operate as well as the ability and suitability otherwise needed to perform the duties well.

       b. Duties

i.                    Will be required to teach in formal courses and conduct seminars.

ii.                  Supervise thesis on all levels.

iii.                Undertake individual Research and to participate in bigger multidisciplinary research projects.

iv.                Prepare manuals and case studies for training.

v.                  Provide close supervision and guidance to students.

vi.                Work on consultancy project.

vii.        Coach junior teaching staff.

CONFUCIUS INSTITUTE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF DAR ES SALAAM

The Confucius Institute at the University of Dar es Salaam is delighted to announce the Scholarship opportunity to study Chinese Language at Jiaxing University, Zhejiang Province, China. Jiaxing University is a Provincial comprehensive institution of higher learning, engaged in the disciplines of Management Science, Engineering, Laws, Medicine, Economics and Educational Science. It is located in Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province, the centre of the golden delta area of Shanghai-Suzhou-Hangzhou. It is composed of 14 colleges, offering various disciplines to 23,000 full-time students.

The scholarship will cover all costs except the international airfare to and from China after graduation.

Application Requirements In order to qualify, the applicant must have the following qualifications:
 Tanzanian citizen (excluding holders of Green Card or Permanent Residence Card);
 Above the age of 16 years and not more than 35 years of age by September 2015;
 Healthy and able to travel internationally;
 Interested in Chinese language and culture;
 Knowledge of Chinese language at basic level is an added advantage;
 Be willing to do part-time job to compensate for the living allowance at Jiaxing University;
 Be ready to pay for international air ticket and visa. Duration of study: One academic year (i.e. September 2015 to July 2016).
