National Scholarship Programme for Foreign Applicants in Slovak Republic, 2013/14.
Applications are invited for National Scholarship Programme
for summer semester of the academic year 2013/14. The National
Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic supports
study/research/teaching/artistic mobility of foreign students, PhD
students, university teachers, researchers and artists at universities
and research organisations in Slovakia. The scholarship shall cover
scholarship holders’ living costs (accommodation, board, etc.) during
their study/research/teaching/artistic stay. The application deadline
is 31 October 2013.
Study Subject(s): Scholarships are provided to learn any of the courses offered by the universities and research organisations in Slovakia.
Course Level: The National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic supports study/research/teaching/artistic mobility of foreign students, PhD students, university teachers, researchers and artists at universities and research organisations in Slovakia.
Scholarship Provider: The Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic
Scholarship can be taken at: Slovak Republic
Eligibility: The following individuals are eligible applicants for a scholarship in the framework of the NSP:
A) students, who are university students abroad and will be participating on a study stay in Slovakia within their 2nd level of higher education (or will be participating on a study stay in Slovakia at least during the 7th semester of their higher education, i.e. in case that they are students of a joined study programme – joined 1st and 2nd level of higher education), and who are accepted by a public, private or state university in the Slovak Republic to an academic mobility to study in the Slovak Republic;
B) PhD students, whose higher education or research preparation takes place abroad, and who are accepted by a public, private or state university or research organisation eligible to carry out a PhD study programme2 (e.g. Slovak Academy of Sciences) in the Slovak Republic to an academic mobility1 to study/conduct research in the Slovak Republic;
C) foreign university teachers, researchers or artists, who are invited by an organisation with a valid certificate of competence to carry out research and development seated in the Slovak Republic, and which is not a business organisation3 to a teaching/research/artistic stay in the Slovak Republic.

UMOJA WA MATAIFA YAIKOSOA TANZANIA KWA KUWAFUKUZA WAKIMBIZI
Umoja wa Mataifa umesema kuwa takriban wakimbizi elfu
25 kutoka Burundi wameondoshwa Tanzania kwa nguvu katika mwezi mmoja
uliopita.
Afisa wa shirika la Umoja wa Mataifa la
kuwahudumia wakimbizi amesema malori yanayowasafirisha warundi yamekuwa
yakivuka mpaka kila siku , huku wakimbizi wengi wakikosa mahitaji muhimu
kama vile maji na chakula .Katika wiki za hivi karibuni, Tanzania imekuwa ikiwafukuza wakimbizi kutoka Burundi, Rwanda na Jamuhuri ya Kidemokrasi ya Kongo .
Kwa miaka mingi Tanzania iliwahifadhi mamilioni ya wakimbizi waliokuwa wakiyakimbia mapigano katika nchi jirani .
Takriban watu milioni moja walitoroka kutoka Burundi na kuingia Tanzania wakati wa mgogoro wa wenyewe kwa wenyewe wakati vita vilipozuka mwaka 1993. Wengi walirejea kwa hiari wakati amani ilipopatikana mwaka 2006.
Lakini inaonekana Tanzania haina tena uvumilivu kwa swala hilo. Nchi hiyo imekuwa makao kwa mamilioni ya wakimbizi katika kipindi ya zaidi ya miaka kumi iliyopita kutokana na migogoro katika eneo la maziwa makuu.
Maafisa sasa wameanza kupiga jeki juhudi za kuwaondoa wakimbizi hao kutoka Burundi, Rwanda, na Jamuhuri ya kidemokrasia ya Congo kwa nguvu wakiwataka kurejea makwao.
Tanzania inasema kuwa wakimbizi hao ni wahamiaji haramu.
Shughuli hii imetokea wakati mmoja na mgogoro wa kidiplomasia kati ya Tanzania na Rwanda ambayo imekuwa ikikanusha madai ya kuchochea vurugu katika Jumuhuri ya Kidemokrasia ya Congo.
Mgogoro ndani ya Jamuhuri ya kidemokrasia ya Congo nao unaendelea kuchochea idadi ya wakimbizi wanaotoroka vita na kuingia katika nchi jirani.

University of Waikato Doctoral Scholarships for International Students in New Zealand, 2014.
University of Waikato is offering doctoral scholarships for domestic
and international applicants. All applicants must have submitted an
application to enroll for doctoral studies at the University of Waikato
prior to, or at the same time as, applying for a Doctoral Scholarship.
The total value of a scholarship shall be a living allowance of up to
$22,000.00 per annum (pro rata for part-time candidates) and an amount
equal to the annual tuition fees payable during the term of the
Scholarship. The application deadlines are 31 October 2013 (for Round 1)
and 30 April 2014 (for Round 2).

-All applicants must have submitted an “Application to enroll for doctoral studies at the University of Waikato prior to, or at the same time as, applying for a Doctoral Scholarship. Scholarship applications will only be selected for consideration once the applicant has received an Offer of Place for Doctoral study at the University of Waikato.
-Candidates already enrolled in a doctoral degree at the University of Waikato may apply. However, the Selection Panel will favour applications from new doctoral students and of those; preference will be given to applicants who have completed the entry qualifications for doctoral study. Scholarships (of reduced duration) may be offered to a candidate who has been enrolled in doctoral studies for six months full-time, or twelve months part-time, or more.
